The Playbook: How to build your own Viral Mini-App with Manus

The real magic isn’t just that this app exists. The magic is how easy it was to create.

As creators, we often get stuck because we have a great idea for an interactive tool (a quiz, a calculator, a fun generator), but we lack the technical skills to build it. Manus completely removes that barrier.

Here is the exact step-by-step process I used, so you can build your own.

Step 1: The Vision

Before you open Manus, you need to know what you want. Keep it simple for your first try.

•What does it do? (Generates a random, funny sentence based on three categories).

•The Viral Element: (It asks for a name to personalize the result, and includes a “Save to Share” button so people can post it on social media).

•How should it look? (Soulful, minimalist, using my brand colors: #FAF9F6 for background, #D4A373 for accents).

Step 2: The Prompt

Manus needs clear instructions. Here is the exact prompt I used to generate the Vibe Check Oracle:

“I want to build a simple, interactive web app called ‘The Vibe Check Oracle’.The Functionality:

1.First, show an input field asking for the user’s first name.

2.Then, a button that says ‘Draw a Vibe Card’.

3.When clicked, it should randomly generate a sentence combining three elements: an adjective, a character, and a situation.

4.The result should say: ‘[Name]’s Vibe: [Generated Sentence]’.

5.Add a ‘Save to Share’ button that lets the user download the card as an image (using html2canvas) so they can share it on Instagram Stories.

The Content:

•Adjectives: A caffeinated, A slightly feral, A deeply soulful...

•Characters: fairy godmother, main character, overthinking poet...

•Situations: who lost their wand but found a really good playlist, currently negotiating with the universe over a matcha latte...

The Design: Make it look beautiful, modern, and soulful. Use a soft off-white background (#FAF9F6), dark grey text (#2D2D2D), and a warm caramel accent color (#D4A373). Use elegant serif fonts for headings and clean sans-serif for text. Include my brand name ‘BabicADesigns’ at the top.”

Step 3: Let Manus Work

Once you hit enter, Manus takes over. You can literally watch it create the project folder, write the React code, install the necessary libraries (like html2canvas for the image export), style it with CSS, and launch the server. If it encounters an error, it reads the error message and fixes it automatically.

Step 4: Share it with the world

Manus gives you a live link that you can immediately share with your audience. No complicated hosting setups required.

The Strategic Shift for your Business

In a digital world that is becoming increasingly automated and optimized, playfulness is the ultimate pattern interrupt. It’s how we stand out. Not by being louder or more strategic, but by being more human.

If you are feeling stuck in the messy middle right now, here are three strategic shifts from her approach that can completely change how you sell your digital products or services:

The Niche Advice We All Hate

Every business coach, every marketing guru, every YouTube video tells you the exact same thing: “You need to niche down.”

They tell you to pick one topic, one micro-audience, one specific problem to solve. If you are the “AI person,” you can’t talk about spirituality. If you are the “design person,” you shouldn’t talk about complex tech automations.

For a long time, I tried to listen. I tried to put myself into a neat little box so people would understand exactly what I do in one sentence.

But honestly? It felt suffocating.

The Corporate Flashback

This feeling of being “boxed in” isn’t new to me. I remember back when I was working in the corporate world, at a company called Vermop. In corporate structures, you are assigned a department. You are the marketing person, or the sales person, or the tech person. You stay in your lane.

But I never could. I was always looking left and right. My old boss there actually noticed it. She sent me to trade fairs and gave me projects outside my department because, as she put it: “You look beyond the edge of the plate.” (Du schaust über den Tellerrand hinaus).

That was a compliment, but it also made me realize something crucial: I don’t fit into corporate structures. I don’t fit into a single department. There are simply too many things I am interested in, too many things I can do, to just be one thing.

The “Chaotic” Reality of Being Multi-Passionate

I was born in 1983. I grew up analog. I have a deep nostalgia for cassette tapes (which is why I once wrote a whole newsletter about the journey from the cassette deck to modern tech).

But I also grew up with technology. I’ve probably owned 18 different mobile phones. I love experimenting with AI. I remember the early days of AI, making those clunky, funny Christmas videos where I pasted my family’s heads onto dancing elves. It wasn’t professional, but it was playful.

I am a techie. But I am also deeply spiritual.

I am highly strategic. But sometimes I just want to be fluffy and write a novel (yes, I wrote a novel!).

Sometimes I want to build complex n8n automations, and sometimes I just want to make a cute Pixar-style love story video with Kling AI just for the joy of it.

For a long time, I thought this made my brand chaotic.

The Realization: I Am The Brand

Then it hit me. The people who follow me, the people who buy my products, they don’t just buy a “niche.” They buy me.

They are interested in the tech, yes. But they also wonder: What else is she doing?

When you limit yourself to just one topic, you are hiding the best parts of yourself. You are hiding the human behind the screen.

I finally decided: I’m just doing my thing.

I am the brand. I am the niche.

If I feel like writing a deep, spiritual Substack newsletter today, I will. If I want to share a hardcore AI tutorial tomorrow, I will.

The Permission Slip (Call to Action)

If you are reading this and you’ve been struggling to “find your niche” because you have too many interests... stop looking.

You don’t have to choose between being professional, soulful, chaotic, or structured. All of it is your brand.

Old SEO was about targeting keywords like “small business marketing.” New AEO is about answering full questions like, “What is the most effective marketing strategy for a new online coaching business with a small budget?” Your content needs to be structured as a clear question and a comprehensive answer. Use headings and subheadings to break down the answer into logical parts.

2. Structure Your Content for Machines, Not Just Humans.

There’s a myth sold to us in the online business world. It’s the myth of the linear path. The one that goes from A to B to C in a straight, predictable, and ever-upward line. It’s the story of the entrepreneur who had it all figured out, who launched with perfect clarity, and who never once looked back.

This is bullshit 😅

My journey, and I suspect yours too, has been anything but linear. It’s been a beautiful, messy, and often confusing spiral. It’s been a series of experiments, pivots, and late-night “what am I even doing?” moments. For a long time, I thought that was a sign I was doing it wrong. Now, I’m convinced it’s the only way to do it right.

This is the gentle note I wish someone had written me when I started. This is what nobody tells you about building a business while you’re still figuring it all out.

The Myth of “Having It All Figured Out”

The pressure to launch with a perfect brand, a flawless strategy, and a five-year plan is immense. We’re told to niche down, to define our ideal client, and to build a perfectly structured product suite before we’ve even made our first sale. But clarity doesn’t come from thinking; it comes from doing.

You don’t find your voice by sitting in a quiet room and journaling about it. You find it by speaking, by writing, by creating, and by seeing what resonates—both with your audience and with your own soul. You don’t discover your perfect niche through market research alone. You discover it by working with real people and finding out whose problems you love to solve.

My own business is a testament to this. BabicADesigns didn’t start with a grand plan. It started with a single digital product, then another, then an experiment with AI, then a pivot into coaching. Each step informed the next. The “plan” was only ever visible in the rearview mirror.

Iteration Is the Real Strategy

For years, I was obsessed with getting it “right.” I’d spend weeks perfecting a sales page, only to realize the offer was wrong. I’d map out a year’s worth of content, only to have the algorithm change or my own interests evolve.

What I’ve learned is that iteration is the real strategy. Perfection is a myth. The goal is not to get it right the first time. The goal is to get it going.

• Your first launch will be clumsy. Do it anyway

• Your first 10 blog posts will probably be read by no one but your mom. Write them anyway.

• Your first product will not be your best. Create it anyway.

I always love to say this: Rome wasn’t built in one day either 😊 So, like we Croatians say “pomalo” - one day at a time. My grandma also had something good to say, but I will share this in one of my other newsletters.

Each action is a data point. Each “failure” is a lesson. Each piece of feedback is a gift. The most successful entrepreneurs I know are not the ones who had the best initial plan. They are the ones who were the fastest to adapt, to learn, and to iterate.

Permission to Be a Work in Progress

This brings me back to the idea of permission slips, a theme we explored a few weeks ago on SoulSync Monday (This is my weekly carousel post I share Mondays on my Social Media Platforms). The most important permission slip you can give yourself is the permission to be a masterpiece and a work in progress simultaneously.

Your audience doesn’t need you to be a finished product. They need you to be a trusted guide, one who is perhaps just a few steps ahead on the path. They connect with your humanity, not your perfection. Sharing your process, your experiments, and even your doubts doesn’t diminish your authority; it deepens it. It makes you real.

Right now, I’m experimenting with this very platform, Substack. I don’t have a grand, year-long strategy for it. I have a 4-week plan. I’m testing, I’m learning, and I’m seeing what feels right. I’m figuring it out in public, with you.

And that feels more honest, and more powerful, than pretending I have all the answers.

• Time to Set Up: About 30 minutes to connect accounts. Now it’s a 1-hour weekly workflow.

3. The Creative Partner: AI-Powered Content Creation

• What it does: This is my secret weapon for content creation. I don’t just use a single AI tool; I use a workflow. Where Should You Start?

Looking at this list can feel overwhelming. Do not try to build all of this at once. The goal of automation is to reduce stress, not create it.

Start with one thing. The one that will give you the biggest return in time or energy this week.

I didn’t plan to create a video that evening.

I just saw that my Kling AI credits had been refilled, opened the app out of curiosity…and a few minutes later, I had generated a tiny Pixar-style love story.

Not because I had a grand strategy. Just because I felt like experimenting.

And sometimes, those are the most enjoyable creative moments.

A small creative habit of mine

Every now and then, I create small AI couple stories.

They’re not big productions. Just tiny, captured moments. A short scene, a little interaction, something playful or romantic. And yes — the couple is inspired by me and my partner. It started one afternoon when I thought: what if I could turn a photo into a tiny story?

Oh, I just love those creative moments I have sometimes 😅 Even before AI I was experimenting like this.

It’s a little side project I started for fun, and from time to time, I share these mini-stories on Instagram. Think of them as tiny Pixar-style relationship moments.

The Learning Curve is Real

When I first started making these videos, the process took me longer. Not because the tools were necessarily worse, but because I was still figuring things out myself.

Like most people diving into AI, I went through that phase of:

•testing prompts

•adjusting scenes

•generating multiple versions

•learning what actually works

Over time, you just get faster. You learn what kind of prompts AI understands well and what you can keep simple. It was my own learning curve, not a limitation of the tools.

Then I Noticed Something New in Kling

When I opened Kling again that evening, I saw they had introduced something new:

Video 3.0 Omni.

Longer video generation. Better character consistency. I was intrigued.

Naturally, I had to try it.

The Prompt I Used

Instead of writing a super-complex, cinematic prompt, I kept it very simple. Just a small, everyday situation.

Here’s the exact prompt I used:

Take only the couple and create a scene at home. She is in the kitchen cooking her husband’s favorite meal. He comes in goofing around. She’s annoyed and about to get mad. In this moment he gets a red rose, hands it to her. She softens and smiles, takes the rose and he leans towards her. The ending scene is the couple kissing.

That’s it. No complicated camera instructions. No technical details. Just a small story moment.

And Then the Video Generated…

The video rendered on the first try.

And it turned out so unexpectedly cute that my immediate thought was:

“Okay… I’m posting this.”

Sometimes you just know when a little creative experiment is worth sharing.

Quick Finishing Touches

Before posting, I opened the video in Instagram’s Edits to add a few small details. Nothing fancy. Just:

•A text overlay

•Music

•A quick timing adjustment

For the music, I chose “Sugar Sugar” by The Archies. Partly because it fits the playful mood of the scene, but also simply because I love music from that era — and somehow, the song made the whole scene feel even more charming.

The text overlay I added was simple:

I was born in 1983.

Which means I grew up in a world that many younger creators today have never experienced: a world before the internet, before smartphones, before everything became instant.

Back then, creativity looked very different.

If you wanted to listen to your favorite song, you didn’t open Spotify.

You waited.

You waited for it to play on the radio.

Finger hovering over the record button on your cassette player, hoping the DJ wouldn’t start talking right when the intro began.

And when the song finally came on, you pressed record and held your breath.

Sometimes I loved a song so much that I recorded it on both sides of the cassette.

That was my version of a playlist.

Creativity before convenience

Today we call it the AI era. But for many creators like me, it’s simply the latest chapter in a long technological evolution.

An app.
A template.
A prompt.

But back then, creativity started with patience.

If you wanted a mixtape, you had to create it yourself.

You listened, waited, recorded, rewound, and sometimes started all over again because someone talked in the background.

Nothing was instant.

And maybe that’s why it felt so intentional.

The MTV generation

By the mid-90s, my world expanded.

Music videos started to dominate our evenings.

I remember watching shows on MTV late at night, discovering new artists, new sounds, and new visual worlds.

Music wasn’t just something you heard.

It was something you watched, felt, and waited for.

Every new video felt like an event.

And of course, there were phases.

For me, one of them was the Backstreet Boys era.

These small cultural moments shaped an entire generation of creators without us realizing it.

We learned storytelling, aesthetics, rhythm, emotion — all before social media even existed.

The first technological shift

Then came the first real wave of digital tools.

Computers.

But not the kind we know today.

Big monitors.
Heavy PCs.
Windows systems that mostly allowed us to write documents.

No internet yet.

At least not in our home.

The computer was simply a tool for typing, not a gateway to the entire world.

Before that, we even learned the ten-finger typing system on typewriters in school.

The sound of keys hitting paper.

Tip. Tip. Tip.

And if you made a mistake?

You didn’t press backspace.

You used correction fluid.

Every word required effort.

The moment mobility arrived

I still remember the Christmas when my sister and I received our first mobile phones.

Two identical Nokia 3210s under the tree.

At the time, it felt like the future had arrived in our living room.

Back then, phones weren’t mini computers.

They were for calling, texting, and maybe playing Snake.

And the battery lasted for days.

Phone cases didn’t exist the way they do today.

So we decorated the covers ourselves.

With nail polish.

Sometimes even glitter.

Looking back, it feels almost funny how simple things were.

But also how creative we were with what we had.

The internet slowly entered our lives

When the internet finally arrived in my life, it didn’t feel like a revolution.

It felt like the next step.

One more tool.

At first, we didn’t fully understand its impact.

Friends would download songs and burn them onto CDs.

We shared music collections, wrote track lists by hand, and built our own compilations.

Looking back, it was the early version of what we now call digital culture.

Sharing.
Curating.
Re-mixing.

The behavior stayed the same.

Only the tools evolved.

Growing up between two worlds

What I realize today is that my generation grew up between two completely different technological worlds.

We experienced:

cassette tapes
CDs
typewriters
early computers
the internet
mobile phones
smartphones
and now artificial intelligence

All within one lifetime.

Technology didn’t suddenly appear.

We grew into it step by step.

And maybe that’s why many of us see things differently today.

The AI era

Fast forward to now.

Today we live in a world where AI can generate:

designs
text
ideas
images
strategies

Sometimes within seconds.

For many people, this feels overwhelming.

And I understand why.

Because the speed of technological change has never been this intense before.

But from my perspective, AI is simply the next step in a very long evolution.

Another tool.

A powerful one, yes.

But still just a tool.

The real question isn’t AI

The real question is how we choose to use it.

Some people try to replace their creativity with AI.

Others reject the technology completely.

But I believe the most interesting place is somewhere in the middle.

AI can remove friction.

But it cannot replace human perspective.

It cannot replace experience.

It cannot replace the stories we carry with us.

Why human creativity still matters

AI can generate text.

But it cannot recreate the feeling of waiting for your favorite song on the radio.

It cannot remember decorating a phone with nail polish.

It cannot remember learning to type on a typewriter.

These experiences shape how we think.

And how we create.

Creativity doesn’t come from tools.

It comes from people.

The bridge generation

Sometimes I feel like my generation stands right in the middle of two worlds.

The analog world we grew up in.

And the AI-driven world we are entering now.

And maybe that’s not a disadvantage.

Maybe it’s exactly what this moment needs.

Because we remember a time when things were slower.

More intentional.

More human.

And that perspective might help us navigate what comes next.

Why Copy-Pasting Kills Your Reach

Every social media platform is its own country. It has its own language, its own culture, and its own etiquette. You wouldn’t wear a tuxedo to a beach party, and you shouldn’t post a long-form essay on Threads.

•Instagram is a visual-first platform. People want carousels, Reels, and beautiful imagery. They’re in a mode of inspiration and discovery.

•Threads is a conversational platform. People want quick insights, witty one-liners, and to be part of a discussion.

•Substack (and your blog) is a deep-dive platform. People come here to learn, to understand, and to invest their time in a topic.

•Pinterest is a planning platform. People are looking for future inspiration, tutorials, and step-by-step guides.

When you copy-paste the same content everywhere, you’re ignoring the native language of each platform. The algorithm notices, and your audience feels it. It’s the digital equivalent of a tourist shouting in their own language, hoping someone will understand.

The Content Waterfall: One Idea, Many Native Expressions

Strategic repurposing isn’t about saying the same thing everywhere. It’s about taking one core idea and expressing it in the native language of each platform.

This is the Content Waterfall framework. You start with your deepest, most comprehensive piece of content, and then you let it flow down, creating smaller, platform-specific assets along the way.

Here’s how it works in practice. Let’s say your core idea is “The DM Shift.”

1. The Source (The Deepest Version): Your Substack Article. This is where you go all in. You write the 1,500-word deep dive. You explain the why, the how, the what-if. You include diagrams, examples, and detailed steps. This is the motherlode of value.

2. The First Cascade: Your Instagram Carousel. You don’t paste the article. You extract the core framework. The Substack article becomes a 10-slide carousel. Slide 1 is the hook. Slides 2-9 are the key points of your framework. Slide 10 is the CTA. It’s visual, skimmable, and designed for the Instagram experience.

3. The Second Cascade: Your Threads Posts. From your 10-slide carousel, you extract the punchiest insights. Each slide can potentially become its own Threads post. Slide 3, “The Old Way vs. The New Way,” becomes a short, provocative post. The headline from Slide 5, “But I don’t want to be stuck in my DMs all day!” becomes a relatable conversation starter.

4. The Third Cascade: Your Pinterest Pin. You take the most actionable part of your article—perhaps the “3 Automations to Set Up Today”—and turn it into a beautiful, vertical pin. It’s a mini-guide that people will save to their “Business Tips” board.

One core idea, created once, has now become a week’s worth of native content across four different platforms, each piece feeling like it was made specifically for that audience.

How to Make This Effortless

This might sound like more work, but it’s actually less. The mental energy of creation happens only once, at the deepest level. The rest is just translation.

Your Action Plan for This Week

1. Pick One Core Idea: What is one topic you know inside and out? What’s one question you get asked all the time? Don’t think about platforms yet. Just pick your idea.

2. Write the Deep Dive First: Before you create a single social media post, write the Substack article or blog post. Go deep. Pour all your knowledge into it.

3. Become a Translator: Now, put on your translator hat. Read through your deep-dive article and ask:

• What’s the 10-slide visual story here? (Instagram)

• What are the 3-5 punchy, debatable one-liners? (Threads)

• What’s the step-by-step, actionable checklist? (Pinterest)

Stop recycling your content. Start repurposing it with intelligence and intention. Your audience—and the algorithm—will thank you for it.

2. Share a Surprising Insight: Reframe a common belief. Challenge the status quo. Give your audience a new lens through which to see their business or their life.

3. Create a Strong, Validating Opinion: Take a stance that makes the right people say, “THIS.” Your content should feel like a permission slip for their own unspoken thoughts.

4. Make It a Tool: Create a checklist, a mini-framework, a simple diagram, or a prompt they can use. Tools get saved and shared because they have tangible value.

If you had asked me a few years ago who I was,

I would have reached for a blueprint.

A clean, simple answer drawn with straight lines.

Something easy to label, to explain, to fit inside a box.

Strategist. Builder. Creator of systems.

And it would have been true.

Part of me finds a deep, quiet satisfaction in the architecture of things that work.

In the clean logic of an AI system, the sturdy frame of a content strategy.

There is a beauty in the precision, in the slow, steady alchemy of turning chaos into clarity, an idea into something real and tangible.

I love that world. The world of maps and frameworks. I truly do.

And yet.

There has always been another language I speak.

A mother tongue of the heart, learned long before the language of logic.

It’s the part of me that feels a story long before it has a name.

The one that finds truth not in data, but in the spaces between words.

The one that still believes a single, well-placed sentence can reach a place a strategy never could.

This part of me is not loud.

It does not demand attention.

But it is persistent. It has a weight. It breathes.

My first novel — Marlene & Alberto: Never Too Late — was born from that quiet, breathing space.

It did not come from a business plan.

It was not reverse-engineered from a market trend.

It came from a feeling that simply refused to be a footnote.

A story that asked for a room of its own.

And if I’m honest… that feeling is still very much alive.

That room is still fully furnished, waiting for visitors.

So maybe this space, this Substack, will be a reflection of that duality.

Not just AI.

Not just business.

Not just writing.

But the quiet, sunlit intersection where structure meets soul,

where strategy meets story,

where the blueprint and the poem are allowed to exist in the same room, and find they are not so different after all.

Because you don’t have to be only one thing.

And I am realizing, finally, that I don’t either.

If you are here for thoughtful strategy — you will find something to build with.

If you are here for stories that carry a little bit of heart — you will recognize the language.
